Today's Special: Shenzhen River

Today is Sunday.

This afternoon, I travelled across the border to Shenzhen.

Hong Kong and Shenzhen are two cities of China. But Hong Kong is a SAR (Special Administrative Region). How special is it? →

In 1997, Hong Kong's soverignty was returned to China. Since then, exchange of people between the 2 cities are getting more and more frequent.

Now, you can hardly differetiate who is from Hong Kong and who from Shenzhen while you are shopping in Shenzhen. The same thing happens in Hong Kong.

We are in one.

But geographically, the 2 cities are still divided by a river...

Rather than the river, the spirit of comparison and competition seems to be the real gap dividing the two...
